ilac asked: So if you work out a lot to lose a lot of weight WILL there be a lot of excess skin?

Answer:

I’ve already talked about this in my FAQ, but it’s all situational. It depends on genetics (if you have good skin elasticity), how moisturized your skin is (put on lotion every day and drink lots of water!), and how quickly you lose the weight. If you’re losing 100+ pounds, yes, there will probably be some excess skin. You can tone some of it up with exercise, but sometimes the only way to get rid of it is skin removal surgery. Regardless, the fear of having excess skin should not keep anyone from being healthy! You have to own up to the fact that you did this to yourself to get in a position where you were 100+ pounds overweight, so see the excess skin as motivation to never go back to that state again. Skin can be removed easily, health problems cannot.
